01 — Project Summary
A 3D film shot from outside a window on a Christmas evening — about the view, and the distance it holds.
A still, single-vantage short film. The camera never enters the room: lace curtains hide most of the scene, snow gathers on the sill, and a table set for two waits with no one there. The piece later drew a licensing inquiry from Audio Bottega, an Italian scoring studio behind work for MINI and Garmin.

02 — Problem
"How do you make warmth feel like longing — without people, movement, or ever entering the room?"
The emotional premise depended on restraint, which made every element technically harder: snow had to read as light and translucent while falling but heavy where it piled, and a thin lace curtain had to drape and react to wind at a scale C4D Cloth couldn't deliver — all on a 4GB-VRAM render budget.

03 — Approach
Three decisions shaped the film.
A
Vantage point — the camera stays outside the window, with no interior shots and no camera moves.
B
Concealment — half-drawn lace curtains reveal the room only in fragments: a table corner, the edge of a tree, a candle flicker.
C
Absence — the room is carefully prepared and empty, so the scene feels set, then left alone.

05 — Outcome
James Micheli, co-founder of Audio Bottega (Lucca, Italy) — the scoring studio behind commercials for MINI, Garmin, and Rudy Project — reached out after seeing the film, requesting the source file and asking about licensing for the motion design market. The project stayed personal, but a professional who listens to moving images for a living asked at source-file level.
06 — Reflection
The biggest lesson was timing discipline. Locking the audio earlier would have reduced rework — every new shot forced the cut sheet to move. On the next pass, the track and cut structure get fixed before final modeling starts. The nomination was a useful signal, but the real value was learning how edit timing changes when the music becomes the main constraint.
