01 — Project Summary
A 30-second motion study for the Hublot Big Bang, built around sound-synced cuts and a fully self-modeled product asset.
Ver.1 is the editing pass of the Hublot project. After the product-build work in ver.2, this version studies how far a luxury object can be pushed into a faster, music-led rhythm without losing readability. Nominated in the Student Commercial category at The Motion Awards '23.

02 — Problem
"The watch had to keep reading as a watch inside 1.5-second cuts — with the music as the main constraint."
No usable 3D asset existed for this model, so it had to be built from scratch — working from a hand-drawn blueprint based on multi-angle photo references. And the pacing target was closer to sportswear edits than to typical luxury watch films, so every shot had very little screen time to establish the product.

03 — Approach
Three process passes: model the asset so it reads clearly from any angle, lock a sportswear-pace cut sheet to the track, then verify timing and blocking in an animatic before rendering a single frame.

05 — Outcome
The film was nominated in the Student Commercial category at The Motion Awards '23 by Motionographer. Useful validation — but the real outcome was an edit-led 3D workflow that held up at a public benchmark, and a cleaner Cinema 4D, Octane, and After Effects round trip at 4K.

06 — Reflection
The biggest lesson was timing discipline. Locking the audio earlier would have reduced rework — every new shot forced the cut sheet to move. On the next pass, the track and cut structure get fixed before final modeling starts. The nomination was a useful signal, but the real value was learning how edit timing changes when the music becomes the main constraint.
